πŸ“‹ What was this drill?

Drill: No decoration: a landing page using ONLY typography, spacing, and alignment. No gradients, no illustrations, no decorative SVG, no glassmorphism. Target: looks designed, not empty.

Interpretation: Built as the annual Consumer Confidence Report for the fictional Harlow Bend Water District β€” a municipal domain where numeric EPA-style tables and a legally candid public-notice voice give pure typography real work to do. Fully achromatic cool-neutral register with one inverted black notices band; three-voice system (Source Serif 4 / Inter / JetBrains Mono tnum+zero+liga-off); hairline rule grammar, zero decoration. Aesthetic reference: printed public-notice government technical report.

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE REPORT

TO THE 14,208 RESIDENTS OF THE DISTRICT

Your water, tested β€” times. Everything we found is on this page β€” including the one thing we got wrong.

Federal law requires this report. It is also the shortest honest summary we can write of a year of laboratory work: what we tested, what came back, and one scheduling mistake we made along the way. The water met every enforceable standard in 2026.

What the lab found

Twelve months of compliance monitoring came back with β€” regulated contaminants detected. None exceeded its maximum contaminant level. Every result below is from calendar year 2026 unless footnoted.

Lead, and the one thing we got wrong

If lead is present at elevated levels it can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant people and young children. Lead in drinking water comes primarily from service lines and household plumbing β€” it is not in the water when it leaves our plant, and we cannot control what your home is plumbed with. Our 2026 tap testing put the 90th-percentile lead result at 4.2 ppb against an action level of 15. If you are concerned, have your water tested by a state-certified laboratory; running the tap 30–120 seconds before use minimizes potential exposure after standing overnight.

Monitoring violation β€” resolved

In March 2026, a quarterly nitrate sample at Well No. 5 was collected 11 days outside its compliance window. That is our scheduling error, not a water-quality event: the make-up sample returned 0.98 ppm against a limit of 10. Public notice PN-2026-014 was issued 9 April 2026 and the file is closed.

That is the complete list: no maximum-contaminant-level violations, no treatment-technique violations, and no unresolved notices in 2026.

05Where it
comes from

Three sources, one pipe

Drinking water comes from wells and rivers; it picks up what it travels through. The 2025 source-water assessment rated both wells moderate susceptibility β€” agricultural nitrate is the standing concern, which is why Β§01 shows it four times a year. The full assessment is on file at the office.

The people behind the numbers

The district is governed by three elected commissioners and run by a staff of eleven. The regular board meeting is the second Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m., at the district office β€” public comment is taken first.
